CBC performs legal work — legal advice or representation — only when a signed engagement letter expressly designates the work as legal services; in that case it is handled by CBC's Maryland-barred principal and an attorney-client relationship is formed for that defined scope. Unless your engagement expressly establishes legal services, no legal work is performed and no attorney-client relationship is created.

Legal Insight Consulting
Educational and document-preparation support — the informed middle ground between do-it-yourself online filing services and a $1,500 attorney engagement. We tell you plainly when something needs formal legal counsel; when it does, we either handle it under a separate engagement letter that expressly designates legal services, or refer you to a licensed Maryland attorney.

Maryland filing fees are set by the State Department of Assessments & Taxation and paid directly to the state: $100 filing + $50 expedited (all online filings are expedited) = $150; same-day rush is $325 online or $425 by paper. What if my project doesn't fit a package?
Start with a Foundations Session ($400). We map your business, identify your three highest-priority moves, and deliver a written roadmap within 48 hours. If your project is a defined engagement — a business plan, operations redesign, market entry, strategic communications plan, or AI advisory engagement — it is priced as a Growth Engagement ($3,500–$5,000), scoped and quoted flat before we start. Either way, the $400 is credited toward whatever we do next.
Do prices ever change?
Yes. We review our pricing quarterly, and this page always shows a “prices current as of” date (currently August 2026). If a price changes after you sign a written scope, your quoted price stands.
Are state filing fees included?
No. Maryland state filing fees (currently $150–$425 depending on processing speed) are paid directly to the State Department of Assessments and Taxation and are never marked up. Our Entity Setup Guidance fee ($400) covers the guidance; the state's fee covers the filing.
Is the Foundations Session really credited?
Yes. The full $400 is credited toward any package if you engage within 60 days. If we end up working together, the session was free.
